Welcome
To Henderson NV !
Henderson
Nevada is a great place to live. Although its historical
roots date back to the late 1920’s, Henderson
is young, modern, robust city with plenty of opportunity. This is
a city with a plan that is working. Henderson offers
a great relocation
alternative to anyone.
Although
originally the site of a lot of temporary housing for those involved
in the Boulder
Dam project, it wasn’t until the Magnesium plant was built
that Henderson was permanently settled with
jobs and a sense of community. The area was originally known
as Midway City, then Pittman, and in 1943 it was named after a late
Nevada Senator Charles Henderson.
Like
other modern western cities, Henderson has been
planned. The city has developed an infrastructure, a foundation
from which it has grown nicely.
The
Henderson Redevelopment Agency has been highly
innovative in the initiation of home owner upgrades, business
courtship, and overall business friendly
conditions that have successfully brought jobs
to the community, put polish on what existed, and attracted commercial
and residential business developers. It is a land of opportunity
in its infancy.
The
cost
of living in Henderson is modest compared to
other U.S. cities. In the new millennium where the dollar doesn’t
go as far as it used to, Henderson is a breath
of fresh air for the families who have flocked to it. And they won’t
have to take a discount on their children’s education
either. Henderson’s solid
school system provides an excellent educational opportunity
for all who attend.
In many of
the master-planned
communities that are part of Henderson, there
is opportunity for first-time home buyers, as well as those who
are moving up. The point is that a young couple can afford to get
started here.
With its
proximity to Las
Vegas, about 17 miles south, a Lake,
multiple
golf course and shopping centers, there
is an abundance of things to do.
If you are
considering a move, take a good look at Henderson.
Its natural
beauty, economic advantages, weather,
and the camaraderie of others moving into the area at the same time
make Henderson a highly desirable
place to live for any family. |
